Founded in 1881, The Yale Alumni Association of Cleveland (YAAC) is a dynamic group of Yale graduates that seeks to serve Cleveland, stay connected to Yale, and have fun. Cleveland boasts one of the oldest and largest alumni groups in the nation, so local alumni can expect to meet Yalies of many ages and with many interests. We enjoy social, networking, engaging in community service, and supporting local students in the process of applying to Yale.

Cleveland is truly a Yale town, with many descendants of those early Yalies still active. Our alumni population today is highly diverse across multiple dimensions including age, gender, race, ethnicity, and Yale school affiliation. Indeed, our community includes old Blues and recent graduates; some of the first women to attend Yale; and alumni of the college as well as professional and graduate schools. We have fun, dynamic chapters of the Association of Asian American Yale Alumni and of Yale Women, an active young alums group and a scholarship fund second to none that has helped generations of talented low-income students and students of color attend Yale.

Our 800 local alums enjoy working together on service projects; gathering for speeches, career, and social events; rooting the loudest at our joint Yale-Harvard game day parties; and supporting the next generation of Yalies through our scholarship fund, Alumni Schools Committee interviewing, and admitted student get-togethers.
