Join us for a reading and talk with Paula Yoo and Jeff Yang. Paula Yoo, Yale ‘91 (JE) is an award-winning children’s picture book author and novelist, a prolific TV writer/producer, and a freelance violinist. From a Whisper to a Rallying Cry is her debut YA nonfiction book and chronicles the events around the lynching of Vincent Chin in Detroit in 1982 and how his death galvanized the Asian American movement. She lives in Los Angeles. Jeff Yang launched one of the first Asian American national magazines, A. Magazine, in the late 1990s, and is now a frequent contributor to CNN, Quartz, Slate, The New York Times and National Public Radio. His most recent book is Rise: A Pop History of Asian America to Now. He lives in Los Angeles.
